Wisdom from His Word

Isaiah 41:10 – Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.

If there was ever a time when the righteous right hand of God is needed – it is now. Covid 19 has thrown us all into a tizzy due to job loss, inability to make ends meet, and fear that if you leave your house you may return home with the virus. Further compounding these woes is the delays with stimulus checks and an inability to receive unemployment due to a system that is overwhelmed by too many applicants.

Under these circumstances, it is easy to become fearful, anxious, and worried. In my study of God’s word, He led me to Isaiah 41:10. In this verse, we are instructed by God to be fearless, not fearful. Why? Because He is God and He is with you. He is with you with your job loss. He is with you when you are struggling to make ends meet. He is with you and aware of your frustrations with the unemployment process and stimulus delay. He is with you in your relationships that may have become strained under the weight of the pandemic. He is with you when you are concerned about your health and safety in the community. He is with you feel lost and overwhelmed with uncertainty. He is omnipresent; He is with you in whatever your current circumstance dictates.

When God promises to be with you He is not a passive bystander watching you struggle. When you feel like collapsing under the weight of your circumstances, God catches you in His arms and upholds you with His righteous right hand. His right hand is His strength to uphold you through your most difficult circumstances. You can take Isaiah 41:10 at face value and experience His strength, help, and righteousness in your time of need.

Prayer

Abba Father who art in heaven, I pray the words of this blog post will be found by those that are in need. Remind them of who you are and that you are the same God yesterday, today, and forever. You are the same God who protected Daniel in the lion’s den. You are the same God that parted the red sea and allowed the children of Israel to escape from the Egyptians. Just as you were with Daniel and the children of Israel, I know you are with us now. God help us to focus on you and not our circumstances so that we will experience your strength, help, and righteous right hand upon us in the midst of my circumstances. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
